1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to lessons, lesson packages, bookings, payments, and related services provided by Coin Français.
By purchasing lessons, booking a lesson, or using the Coin Français website to request instructional services, you agree to these terms and to the applicable Cancellation & Refund Policy.
2. Educational Services
Coin Français provides private French instruction, including general French, advanced French, and preparation for French language assessments.
Lessons are personalized educational services. Individual progress varies, and Coin Français does not guarantee a particular grade, score, proficiency level, admission result, certification result, or other academic outcome.
3. Independent Tutoring Service
Coin Français is an independent tutoring and instructional service.
References to examinations, programs, or assessment names such as AP, IB, or STAMP describe the type of preparation offered. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Coin Français is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the organizations that administer those programs or assessments.
4. Booking Lessons
Lessons are subject to instructor availability. A requested time is not considered fully scheduled until the booking has been accepted and confirmed.
Students are responsible for providing an accurate email address and reviewing booking confirmations and other service-related communications.
5. Lesson Packages and Credits
Purchased lesson packages provide the number and type of lesson credits shown at the time of purchase.
Coin Français lesson credits do not expire. They may remain available until they are used, transferred when permitted, or refunded when eligible under the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Regular lesson credits may be used for eligible Regular lessons. Test Preparation credits may be used for eligible Test Preparation lessons and may also be used for a lower-priced Regular lesson when the system permits it.
If a higher-value Test Preparation credit is voluntarily used for a lower-priced Regular lesson, the difference in value is not converted to cash or an additional partial credit.
6. Prices and Payment
Prices are those displayed at the time of purchase. Future price changes do not change the price of a previously completed purchase.
Online payments are processed through Stripe. Coin Français does not receive or store payment-card or bank-account details.
A purchase is considered completed after payment is successfully processed and recorded.
7. Cancellations
A student who cancels at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson may cancel without losing the lesson credit. The credit is returned and may be used to book another lesson.
A cancellation made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson will normally result in the lesson being considered used. The student may request an exception for circumstances such as illness, emergency, school or work conflict, or a technical problem.
Exceptions are reviewed individually and are not guaranteed. When an exception is approved, Coin Français may restore the lesson credit or arrange a make-up lesson.
8. Rescheduling
A lesson may normally be rescheduled without penalty when the change is requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson.
A rescheduling request made less than 24 hours before the lesson is treated in the same manner as a late cancellation. The student may request an exception.
9. Missed Lessons and No-Shows
If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson and did not cancel beforehand, the lesson will normally be considered used.
A student may request an exception after a missed lesson. Depending on the circumstances, Coin Français may restore the lesson credit or arrange a make-up lesson. Exceptions are considered individually and are not guaranteed.
10. Late Arrival
If a student arrives late, the lesson will normally still end at the originally scheduled ending time and will count as the scheduled lesson.
Coin Français may make a different arrangement when appropriate because of an emergency or other exceptional circumstance.
If the instructor is late, the student will receive the full scheduled teaching time or equivalent make-up time will be arranged.
11. Instructor Cancellation
If Coin Français cancels a scheduled lesson, the lesson credit will be restored and the student may use it to rebook another available time.
The restored credit does not expire.
The student may instead request a refund for the affected lesson, including when the original purchase was made more than 30 days earlier.
12. Refunds
Eligible unused lesson credits may be submitted for a cash refund within 30 days of the original purchase.
When part of a discounted lesson package has already been used, completed lessons are valued at the normal individual-lesson price applicable to that package type. The refundable balance is calculated from the amount originally paid after subtracting the value of lessons already used.
A refund will never exceed the amount originally paid.
Eligible cash refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Coin Français does not issue an eligible Stripe refund to an unrelated card, bank account, cash recipient, or other payment destination.
Additional details appear in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
13. Giving or Transferring Lesson Credits
Coin Français may allow an unused lesson credit to be given to another person through a redemption code or similar transfer process.
A transferred credit keeps its original lesson type. For example, a Regular credit remains a Regular credit and a Test Preparation credit remains a Test Preparation credit.
Once a transfer is completed or redeemed, the recipient receives lesson-credit value rather than cash value. A transferred credit is not cash-refundable by the recipient.
The original purchaser's refund rights apply only while the purchaser still owns the unused credit and the purchase otherwise remains eligible for a refund.
14. Technical Problems
Students should make reasonable efforts to have a functioning internet connection, compatible device, audio, and any other technology reasonably needed for an online lesson.
If a significant technical problem prevents a lesson from taking place, Coin Français may determine an appropriate remedy, which may include restoring a credit or arranging make-up time, depending on the circumstances and the source of the problem.
15. Student Conduct
Students are expected to participate respectfully and not use lessons, communications, or website services for abusive, threatening, fraudulent, unlawful, or disruptive purposes.
Coin Français may refuse or discontinue service when reasonably necessary to protect the instructor, students, the website, or the integrity of the service.
16. Minors
When lessons are purchased or arranged for a minor, the parent, guardian, or other responsible adult arranging the service is responsible for the purchase, scheduling, and applicable communications relating to the lesson.
17. Lesson Materials
Materials provided by Coin Français for instructional use are intended for the student's personal educational use unless otherwise stated.
Students should not reproduce, publish, sell, or distribute original Coin Français instructional materials for commercial purposes without permission.
18. Availability of the Website
Coin Français makes reasonable efforts to keep its website, scheduling functions, and related online services available, but uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed.
Maintenance, hosting issues, third-party service interruptions, internet outages, or other circumstances may temporarily affect availability.
19. Privacy
Personal information is handled according to the Coin Français Privacy Policy.
20. Changes to Services or Terms
Coin Français may update its services, website features, prices, policies, or these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Changes to these terms will be identified by the revision date shown at the top of this page. A completed purchase remains subject to the material purchase terms and price applicable when that purchase was made, except when a change is required by law or is more favorable to the student.
21. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by applicable law in the State of Colorado and applicable federal law, without limiting rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
22. Contact
Questions about these Terms & Conditions may be submitted through the Coin Français contact form.
